Our 7 Strand Core 4mm Solid Black 550 Polyester Paracord is a versatile utility cord designed for demanding outdoor, tactical, industrial, and everyday applications. With a 4mm diameter, genuine 7-core construction, and a 550 lb (250 kg) minimum breaking strength, it provides dependable performance for securing, fastening, and general-purpose use. Manufactured from 100% polyester, it offers low stretch, excellent UV resistance, and reliable strength in wet, humid, and harsh outdoor environments. The solid black color delivers a clean, professional appearance suitable for both functional and decorative applications.
7 Strand Core 4mm Solid Black 550 Polyester Paracord is a braided utility cord consisting of a tightly woven polyester outer sheath surrounding seven independent polyester core strands. The term 550 paracord refers to its minimum breaking strength of 550 lb (approximately 250 kg), while the 4mm diameter provides a balance between flexibility, durability, and handling.
Unlike traditional nylon paracord, polyester paracord absorbs less moisture, stretches less under load, and offers superior resistance to UV exposure, mildew, and weathering. The solid black color is produced using solution-dyed polyester fibers, helping maintain color consistency during long-term outdoor use. It is widely used for tent guy lines, tarp rigging, survival bracelets, gear lashing, dog leashes, backpack straps, emergency repairs, tool wraps, and other applications requiring a durable, weather-resistant utility cord.
True 7-core 550 – Meets MIL-C-5040H Type III specifications. Seven independent inner strands.
100% polyester – No water absorption. No sagging in rain. No mildew. Superior UV resistance.
Solid black, deeply colored – Solution-dyed yarn. Color will not wash out or fade quickly.
Low stretch – 10-15% elongation at break (nylon is 30%+). Knots hold tension longer.
550 lb verified – Every batch tensile tested.
Tactical look – Matte black finish. Ideal for low-visibility applications.

Why choose us? We are a professional supplier of high-quality polyester paracord. Our solid black is truly black – not grayish or faded. We use solution-dyed yarn, so the color runs through the entire fiber. As a direct China manufacturer, we offer consistent quality, batch traceability, and competitive pricing.
Sealing ends – Use lighter or hot knife. Nylon melts at lower temperature; polyester requires slightly more heat (250°C). Press melted end with metal.
Knot guide – Bowline, taut-line hitch, cobra weave – same as standard paracord.
Care – Wipe with damp cloth. Machine washing not necessary. Air dry.
Storage – Coil loosely. Avoid long-term direct UV exposure when not in use (though polyester handles it well).
Standard: PE bag with label, or cardboard spool (50m/100m)
Bulk: 50 rolls per carton, moisture barrier
Custom: Retail-ready displays, hang tags, blister packs

Customer review: “Best black paracord I’ve found. Truly black, not dark gray. Holds up in sun and rain. Will order again.” – James, Texas
Q1: Is this real 550 cord?
Yes. 7 inner cores, each with multiple yarns. Test reports available.
Q2: Why polyester instead of nylon?
Polyester holds color better, resists UV longer, and does not absorb water. Nylon is softer and more elastic. For most outdoor uses, polyester is superior.
Q3: Will the black fade?
Much less than surface-dyed cords. We use solution-dyed yarn – the pigment is inside the fiber. Some minor fading may occur after years of direct sun, but it remains dark black for much longer than standard cord.
Q4: Can I use it for climbing?
NO. Paracord is for utility only, never for life-safety.
Q5: What is the minimum order quantity?
Stock solid black: no MOQ – single rolls available. Custom colors: 5000 meters.
Free sample up to 3 meters (buyer pays shipping)
12-month warranty against manufacturing defects
30-day return for unopened, unused rolls
Same specifications but other solid colors (olive, coyote, gray, red, blue, orange)

“I’ve been using nylon paracord for years. Switched to this black polyester version for my camping gear. The difference is real. No more sagging tent lines after rain. The black color stays dark even after a season of use. Never going back to nylon.”
– Mark, Oregon
“I make custom dog leashes as a side business. Customers love the solid black look. The cord is strong, easy to weave, and the color does not rub off on hands. My repeat customers specifically ask for this cord.”
– Lisa, Georgia
