Q1: Is this cord really 550 lb strength?
Yes - seven cores, batch tensile tested to 550 lb minimum. Test reports available on request.
Q2: Will the white color fade over time?
Much less than surface-dyed cord. We use solution-dyed polyester - the pigment is inside the fiber. Some slight yellowing may occur after years of direct sun, but it stays white much longer than nylon.
Q3: Will the white color rub off on my hands or clothes?
No - solution-dyed color is bonded to the fiber. It will not rub off, wash off, or bleed.
Q4: Can I dye this white paracord to other colors?
Yes - white paracord takes fabric dyes (Rit, Dylon, iDye) very well. Because it is polyester, use the appropriate dye formula (requires heat). We have customers who buy white cord specifically for dyeing.
Q5: Is it safe for use on boats?
Yes - polyester is saltwater-resistant and does not absorb water. White is traditional on boats. However, for permanent mooring in exposed conditions, we recommend upgrading to 5mm or 6mm for larger vessels.
Q6: Can I use it for climbing?
ABSOLUTELY NOT - no paracord is for life-safety climbing or rappelling. Use only for camping, lashing, crafts, and ground-based utility.
